Term of Service
Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this arrangement is to prescribe the matters concerning the terms and conditions as well as the procedures of accessing and using the Web Services (hereinafter referred to as the "Services") of the english version of the Statutes of the Republic of Korea as provided by the Korea National Research Resource Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute"). Article 2 (Working Rules besides Terms and Conditions) The matters not specified in this Terms and Conditions shall be in accordance with related laws and regulations such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. Article 3 (Term Definition) ① The term “User” means such a person who receives the Services provided by the Institute by accessing to the “Site”, and is classified into the “Member” and the “Non-Member”. ② The term "Member" means a person who use this site by registering in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. ③ The term "Identification (ID)" means such a combination of English alphabets and Arabic numerals as the Institute, at the request of a member, grants him/her so as to identify him/her thereby; ④ The term "Password" means such a combination of English alphabets and Arabic numerals as the Institute, at the request of a member, grants him/her in order to ascertain whether he/she is entitled to any identification number and to protect the confidentiality of his/her personal information. Article 4 (Member Registration) ① For any member, this arrangement shall become effective at the time when he/she expresses his/her consent to the terms and conditions of this arrangement. ② An offer of use shall be made by entering the following matters in an application for admission on-line or by any other means as determined by the Institute: 1. Identification; 2. Password; 3. Name or trade name; 4. Institution name; 5. Domicile; 6. Telephone number; 7. Other matters as determined by the Institute. ③ If any matter as entered under membership information is altered, a member shall, without delay, correct it on-line or by any other means as determined by the Institute. Article 5 (Suspension of Services) ① The Institute shall, in accordance with this arrangement, make efforts to provide the Services on an uninterrupted and stable basis, and shall repair and restore any equipment without delay, if any malfunction or destruction occurs to it. ② The Institute shall, if terminating the Services, give public notice of its substantials to the members and in case of any of following occurs, the Institute temporarily suspend part or entire Services without notice: 1. Emergency system inspection, expansion, replacement, repair or construction of facilities are inevitable for the Institute 2. Due to error of the system or other service facilities, lane and wireless network troubles, etc., normal provision of service is impossible 3. Due to events of force majeure which cannot be controlled by the Institute such as natural disaster, national emergency, blackout, etc. Article 6 (Withdrawal and Disqualification of User) A member may request to terminate your registration at any time (withdrawal) from the site. Article 7 (Notice to User) ① If this site notifies specific member, shall notifies to the users each of the followings for use through email. ② In the event that the Institute gives a notice to many and unspecified users, the Institute may post the notice in the site bulletin board, instead of an individual notice. Article 8 (Protection of Personal Information of User) The this site shall consider the personal information of users to be important and it complies with the relevant laws and Privacy Policy. Article 9 (Obligation of Member) ① A member shall be responsible not to have his/her ID and password used by any other person who is not entitled thereto ② It shall not be permitted that a member involves any of the following acts: 1. Registering false information when applying for or changing user registration 2. Stealing another user's identity 3. Other acts of violating the sound transaction order or related Acts and subordinate statutes of Korea. 4. Use of this site for commercial purposes by copying, transmitting, publishing, distributing, broadcasting or otherwise or of third parties without the consent of the administrator. Article 10 (Deletion of Public Postings) If any public posting of the **** falls within each of the followings, the Institute may delete the applicable public posting without a prior notice to the **** and may restrict, suspend or disqualify the membership of the applicable user: 1. Content that defames another user or a third party by libelous or unfounded fact 2. Content that violates public sentiment 3. Content that infringes on the copyrights or other rights of other users or third parties 4. Content that violates relevant laws and regulations Article 11 (Ownership of Copyright and Restriction on Use) ① Copyright and other intellectual property rights of the work created by this website belong to the website of this Institute. ② The user shall not use the information obtained by using the site or allow a third party to use them through reproduction, transmission, publication, distribution, broadcasting or other method without a prior consent of the Institute. Article 12 (Amendment to Terms of Use) ① This site may be amended to the extent that it does not violate the relevant laws such as laws concerning the regulation of the clause of the regulations, the Basic Act of Electronic Transaction, the Electronic Signature Law, the Promotion Of Information And Communication Network Use And Protection Of Information. ② The Institute may, if deemed necessary, modify any provisons of this arrangement, which shall take effect by being notified to the members or by other means. ③ If any member is not willing to consent to any modification, he/she may terminate the agreement on the use of the Services: Provided, That if he/she continues to use the Services until after any modification takes effect, he/she shall be deemed to consent thereto. Supplementary Provision The Terms of Use shall be applied from Dec 1, 2009.
Privacy Policy
KNRRC handles its customers' personal information with care and observes privacy-related laws including the Personal Information Protection Act and the law regarding the Promotion Of Information And Communication Network Use And Protection Of Information. KNRRC has a Privacy Policy currently in effect that customers can refer to in order to understand how it handles their personal information, shows measures currently in place to carefully handle all personal information and emphasizes that all personal data is solely used for a specific purpose and destroyed afterwards. The institute privacy policy contains the following elements: 1. Collection of personal information and purpose of use 2. Use of information for other purposes and sharing and provision of the information to the third party 3. Manager responsible for control of personal information 4. Request for access to personal information 5. Withdrawal of consent for registration of personal information 6. Period of keeping and using personal information 7. Consultation and Report of Personal Information Infringement 1. Collection of personal information and purpose of use ● name, Identification, password : Process of user verification ● email, phone : notice of business content and schedule, communication, news 2. Use of information for other purposes and sharing and provision of the information to the third party KNRRC shall not use customers’ personal information or share it beyond the scope indicated in the “purpose of collecting and using personal information” under any circumstances except in cases where a customer gives consent or if required by law. KNRRC will obtain your consent to matters concerning the third party to whom personal information is provided, the purpose of use of personal information, the items of personal information, and the retention and use period if the Institute intends to provide your personal information to a third party. In the following cases, we will carefully use and provide personal information to other parties ● If you need to make a payment when participating in the evaluation program ● When analyzing results, creating statistics or evaluating programs, it is necessary to process specific individuals in an unrecognizable form ● If there are special regulations in the law such as Real Name Financial Transactions Act, Use and protection of credit information act, Telecommunications Basic Act, Telecommunications Basic Act, Local Tax Act, Consumer Protection Law, Bank of Korea Act and Criminal Procedure Law 3. Manager responsible for control of personal information The KNRRC has selected the following manager to protect personal information and deal with personal information related complaints. Member(s) may notify any of issues that have occurred in relation with his use of services to the Personal information manager. The Institute will answer rapidly and sufficiently to all issues notified by the member(s). Request for access to personal information You may review or correct your personal information at any time. if you may view or correct your personal information under "Personal Information", please enter your personal information in "Login" and click on "My Page" after confirming your identity, if you contact us by e-mail, I will take action without delay. if you request correction of errors in your personal information, we will not use or provide the personal information until we have completed the correction. moreover, if your personal information has already been provided to a third party, we will notify said third party without delay of correction that has taken place. 5. Withdrawal of consent for registration of personal information You may withdraw your consent to the collection and use of personal information at any time. You may withdraw membership according to the procedure on the website, or you may contact the chief privacy officer in writing or by phone or e-mail. The institution will immediately extract your personal information from the server. 6. Period of keeping and using personal information When the purpose of collection and use of personal information is fulfilled or the retention and use period of personal information expires, the personal information will be promptly destroyed. However, if retention of any of the personal information is required by other rules and regulations, KNRRC shall retain such information. 7.
