The Project ¡°National Research Resource Centers¡± was launched in 1995 by the Ministry of Science and Technology. At present, the KNRRC includes the headquarters and 33 RRCs in 22 universities.
RRCs are conducting research, collection, identification, storage, consulting and distribution of various resources originated from animals, plants, micro-organisms, medical sciences, physics and chemistry.
The RRCs provide researchers with resources as well as information via seminars, workshops, newsletters, and their homepages.
Korea National Research Resource Center (KNRRC, headquarters) was established in 2008 and supported by the Ministry of Science ICT and Future Planning. KNRRC provides a total management system for the RRCs including database management, on-line ordering, guidelines, educational programs, policy making and certification of resources. Furthermore we are responsible for the resources of discontinued RRCs. KNRRC had been working as the secretariat of the Asian Network of Research Resource Centers (ANRRC) and actively participating in the international networks of resource centers, culture collections and biobanks.
KNRRC will continue to make every effort to provide Authenticated, Customer-oriented resources with Easy access (ACE) to researchers working in academic institutes as well as to industries playing a role as the central component of science infastructure.
